An ergogenic aid refers to any athletic performance enhancing substance or training technique. Ergogenic aids can be nutritional or non-nutritional.[1] Some types include nutritional aids, physiological aids, psychological aids, and mechanical aids. Ergogenic aids may directly influence the physiological capacity of a particular body system thereby improving performance, remove psychological constraints which adversely impact performance, and increase the speed of recovery from training and competition. [2] Ergogenic aids can be as simple as water used before and after exercising to aid in hydration, large dosages of vitamins, blood doping, mental strategies, special training techniques, or even something as advanced as using drugs, such as anabolic steroids.

Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy as Ergogenic Aid[3]

Recently, Pulsed Electromagnetic Field or PEMF therapy has also come into light as enhancing Athletic performance. It can be used as an Ergogenic Aid.
